Sheep go to Heaven. Goats go to Hell.
How to find Christ so we can “come unto” Him.
We know that if we want to return to to live with our Father in Heaven, the only way to do that is through Jesus Christ. He has invited us to come unto Him and through Him receive everlasting life. So if none of us (excluding prophets and apostles) has ever seen Him, how do we even know where to go unto? How do we find Him?
I believe there are many ways in which we can come unto Christ, but I would like to focus on one.
The Sheep and The Goats
In Matthew 25: 31-46, Christ Himself gives the parable of the sheep and the goats. Most notably he says:
34 Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
The Least of These
Who are the “least” among you? Who is suffering for want of food, clothing, shelter or love?
We can’t forget that we are not on this earth alone. We are all brothers and sisters trying to live meaningful lives. I’d say serving others is pretty dang meaningful. I’ve never experienced joy so deep as when I’m showing love to others. Plus, Christ said if you render to the least among you, you are rendering to Him.
That is how we find Christ. That is how we can “come unto” Him. He is all around us if we will just open our eyes and see.
